Our Business is Relationships
As with any business, goods and services are part of our business plan. At Mental Health Kokua our services include housing, case management, homeless outreach, psychosocial rehabilitation, psychiatry, and counseling.
  • Our relationships with the people we serve.
  • Our relationships with our staff and board members.
  • And our relationships with you – the public trust we build.
Our History
MHK was founded in 1973 as a non-profit, Hawaii corporation, specifically to assist people recovering from mental illness. Since our beginning, building relationships with a handful of people in one house on Sierra Drive, MHK has grown to an organization serving a broad range of behavioral health needs, with 40 locations throughout Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and on the Island of Hawaii.

MHK’s community-based services are designed to reflect local community. We have governing board members representing each island location. Through timely, cost effective, and focused care, we assist people with mental illness/dual diagnosis to recover and move toward more independent living in their community.

Our Mission
Mental Health Kokua assists people with mental health and related challenges, to achieve optimum recovery and functioning in the community.

Our Vision
To be the most respected and trusted mental health organizations in the State of Hawaii. Through our trusted relationships, specially designed and culturally sensitive services, Mental Health Kokua is committed to helping people with the opportunity to begin again.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and our staff members, it is our honor to serve the people of Hawaii. Contact us.

If you or someone you know needs help, or if you would like to help us with our mission, please browse our website, or call (808) 737-2523.
Our relationship begins with you …
