Mission
Service to others is what makes our country unique in the world. As a community-based non-profit organization, Mental Health Kokua (MHK) depends upon volunteers and service to others to help us meet our mission. Volunteering an integral part of our business. Volunteers not only help us with added resources, but you in turn become our ambassadors with the community to spread our mission.
Volunteers:
In order to provide you with an experience that adds value, as well as to protect the rights of the people we serve, we will need the following information from you prior to beginning your work
  • An employment application or résumé.
  • Reference check.
  • Evidence of completing the MHK orientation.
  • Criminal background check
  • Drug screening.
  • Review MHK confidentiality policies.
Students:
Students consistently find Mental Health Kokua rewarding, and MHK gains from your fresh ideas and experiences. In order to provide students with a meaningful educational placement, as well as to protect the rights of the people we serve, we will need an authorized academic agreement that includes:
  • Expectations or learning objectives.
  • Time commitment (e.g., start and stop dates).
  • Scope of responsibility.
  • Supervision required from MHK.
  • Primary contact person with your school and at MHK.
How do you become a volunteer or student with MHK?

Thank you again for considering Mental Health Kokua.
          And remember,
Our commitment to quality care begins with you
